Villa P8
Designer
Piero Ludicina
In Marsala, in the province of Trapani, architect Piero Laudicina became an extraordinary interpreter of the uniqueness of marble, used as the main element of the internal and external spaces in the project of villa P8. An oasis caressed by the warmth of the Sicilian sun, where the light reflects on the marble of the white Pietra Ducale pavement to illuminate the interior of the villa, distinguished by the elegance of the unique flooring in all the rooms covered in Grigio Venezia marble. A project made up of links and contrasts between the inside and the outside, lights and shadows, where marble has the architectural function of emphasizing the perfect symbiosis of spaces with the interlocking grey marble of the interior reaching out in an apparently casual way towards the flare of exterior flooring and vice versa. A project that sees marble as the absolute protagonist in the design research aimed at enhancing the entire villa through attention to detail, as is evident in the tailor-made workings of the bathrooms with tops, washbasins and shower trays flush with the floor, or in the kitchen with top and side cladding with continuous veining that maintains the continuity with the floor.
